What We Do
The Friends of the Greenwood County Library System is a nonprofit, grassroots organization dedicated to promoting the public library and the collections, services, and programs it provides Greenwood County residents. We volunteer our time and talents. We advocate for the Library System. Individually and as a group, we are a voice in the county to promote the Library’s services and needs. We fundraise to support and enhance the Library’s collections and programs. The money we raise funds or helps fund:
- The purchase of books, DVDs, and CDs for children and teens.
- The Summer Reading Program for children, teens, and adults.
- Adult book discussion programs in Greenwood, Ninety Six, and Ware Shoals.
- Greenwood County Reads, the annual county – wide book discussion program for high school students and adults.
- Art and craft materials for children and teens.
If you believe in the importance of a vibrant county library system, please consider joining us in whatever capacity works best for you.
